The Physical Security Architects, Inc. is owned and operated by Paul W. Logan. Mr. Logan is a Licensed Architect – licensed in multiple states, and is NCARB Certified. He is Board Certified through ASIS, International as a Physical Security Professional and a Professional Certified Investigator. He is also a Certified Forensic Consultant through the American College of Forensic Examiners International and is Board Certified in Homeland Security (Level III) by the American Board For Certification in Homeland Security. Mr. Logan holds a Professional Bachelor of Architecture degree and a Master of Science in the Administration of Justice and Security. Mr. Logan is a Certified CPTED Practitioner, combining his education, training, and experience in criminology, security, and architecture to improve the security of the built-environment and the safety of its users.
Mr. Logan’s criminology and security studies have primarily involved areas including Survey of Justice and Security, Organizational Administration, Management of Institutional Risk, Ethics in Justice and Security, Criminological Theory, Legal Issues in Justice and Security, Critical Incident Management, Cyber Crime and Information Systems Security, Criminology and Public Policy, Physical and Personal Protection, Forensic Science and Psychological Profiling, and Program Development and Evaluation. Mr. Logan has received specialized education and training in areas involving active shooters, building protection against terrorist and criminal attacks, recognition of and remediation requirements for methamphetamine laboratories, the prevention of school violence, the protection of assets, and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). Mr. Logan has also assisted in performing various penetration exercises of existing facilities.
To maintain his various licenses and certifications, and to keep up on evolving standards, Mr. Logan routinely completes extensive continuing education courses each year in areas involving criminology, security, forensics, architecture and construction, just to mention a few. Mr. Logan has thirty years of experience in the design, architecture, and construction industry, providing for a solid and unique foundation for assessing the built-environment involving security related matters. Mr. Logan has been responsible for the planning, programming, design, and development for a myriad of project types including educational, governmental, commercial, institutional, manufacturing technologies, health and medical, information technology, historic preservation, and residential facilities. His experience has included traditional architectural design services, project and construction management, building code and accessibility analysis, owner representation, risk management, forensic investigations, site surveys, security surveys, feasibility studies, cost estimating, alternative dispute resolution, litigation support and expert witness services. Mr. Logan has owned and operated a forensic architectural consulting firm in Denver, Colorado known as The Architectural Alliance Group, LLC since 1997.
Over the past fifteen years Mr. Logan has been routinely retained as a subject matter expert. Mr. Logan has been qualified as an expert in numerous courts and other judicial proceedings.
